Shutter Island

Federal Marshall Teddy Daniels and his new partner Chuck Aule travel to a government-run mental institution for the criminally insane on Shutter Island, near Boston, when there is a report that one of the prisoners has gone missing.

Around this time, Daniels is in a very disturbed state from what he saw at the Nazi concentration camps and is still haunted by the recent death of his wife. Curious by nature, he sets out to find out what really is going on in one of the wards, reserved for the most serious offenders. As he begins to peel through the layered truths, it is obvious that not everything is just as it seems.

This 2010, psychological thriller starring Leonardo Dicaprio, is a nerve wracking film and is one of a kind. Many critics didn’t really connect much with the movie, but nevertheless, it is one of my personal favourites.
